Originating as a 14-person operation in Japan in 1977, A&D has consistently led the evolution of the analog to digital technology market. While A&D’s offices for medical and weighing measurement test equipment are globally dispersed, its business unit dedicated to mobility development solutions, A&D Technology, established its USA Headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2005.
A&D Technology has consistently supported R&D engineers in efficiently developing their mobility applications through streamlined automation, simulation, and lab management systems. Recognizing that the revolutionary technology integrated into automotive test cells was inconsistent with the outdated atmosphere of its office space, A&D made a strategic decision in 2021 to plan a major office overhaul. The goal was to provide a modern office environment aligned with the dynamic company culture and innovative products A&D Technology offers.
Key Highlights of the Office Remodel:
- Contractor Overhaul: A&D’s exterior received a fresh coat of paint, updated signage, and the entire first floor underwent substantial demolition. Outdated cubicles, furniture, appliances, lighting, fixtures, and flooring were replaced with modern designs, colors, and patterns, harmonizing with A&D’s forward-thinking and vibrant culture.
- Contemporary Workspaces: Lower cubicle walls, additional group meeting spaces, and ergonomic furniture enable employees to collaborate easily in workspaces that are both comfortable and sleek.
- Technology Upgrades: Dual swivel HD monitors were installed in all workspaces to maximize the digital workspace and enhance productivity. Conference rooms and new meeting rooms received state-of-the-art conferencing equipment, facilitating seamless video meetings with clear audio and visuals.
- Revamped Common Areas: Redesigned bathrooms boast contemporary fixtures and amenities, providing employees with a stylish and functional space. Additionally, the mailroom has undergone a significant overhaul, featuring intuitive modern fixtures that enhance efficiency and streamline daily operations. The A&D breakroom now features new appliances, cabinetry, and furniture, creating an inviting gathering place for employees during their lunch, during company events, or casual activities.
- Graphics: New graphics installed around the office convey the A&D story to visitors. This includes a giant lobby timeline showcasing company milestones, a global map highlighting A&D’s offices and manufacturing sites, and iconic visuals and demos emphasizing the wide array of measurement testing solutions offered across A&D’s various business units. The company’s mission, core values, and customer quotes are prominently displayed throughout the hallways reminding employees and visitors what others love about working with A&D.
