LabWorX 4.0 — What’s New and Why It Matters
LabWorX 4.0 delivers a faster, more powerful, and more intuitive test-lab management experience, with major updates to LabCentral, LabScheduler, and LabCam that help engineers work smarter, automate more, and see everything that’s happening in their lab in real time.
1. Smarter Device & Data Management (LabCentral 4.0)
- Automated naming for new devices — no more manual IDs.
- Custom Device Columns now support text or Part ID fields, allowing richer metadata and direct links to your part-tracking database.
- Replacement warnings notify Device Administrators when assets are near end-of-life — helping you prevent downtime.
- Facet Indexing for faster, more flexible search of test data.
- Home page & dashboard upgrades: customizable widgets, new chart and radio-button controls, and grouping/sorting tools for an at-a-glance lab view.
- DocFlow enhancements (a big theme in 4.0):
- Approval-flow and button panels for smoother workflow automation.
- Support for macros, data-driven panels, and section restarts.
- Major speed boost — DocFlows are now indexed in Solr for faster loading across the platform.

2. Enhanced Scheduling & Test Execution (LabScheduler)
- DocFlow Engine Test Requests now show live device-status icons, so you can instantly see availability and maintenance state.

- Improved part selection — searchable, sortable dialogs to find parts in seconds.

3. Live Lab Monitoring (LabCam)
- New LabCam Web Service brings live streaming and PTZ (camera control) directly into LabCentral dashboards.
